Make gourmet chocolate covered strawberries in five simple steps.
One. Get same size strawberries and ensure they are clean, dry and at room temperature prior to coating them.
Two. Decide on the chocolate melt that come in variety of flavors and colors. Choose milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate.
Three. Take a double boiler. Place water in the lower pot. Heat it to boiling, then lower the heat. Place the candy melt on the top pot. Stir the melt until it dissolves into a smooth liquid.
Four. Gently insert a candy making fork into the berry just under the greens. Once secured on the fork, gently dip it into the chocolate. Cover the whole berry up to about one-quarter inch from the top. Do not keep the berry in the chocolate any longer than necessary.
Five. Pull out the coated berry and lightly shake it to remove any excess chocolate. Place it carefully on a sheet of wax paper and allow to set. Dip rest of the strawberries similarly.
This done place them carefully in the freezer to "set" the chocolate if it has not turned solid. Do not allow the berries to freeze.
You might try variations once you've handled the art. Try two-toned chocolate dip, the tuxedo look or three colored artistic designs. You may even leave the greens on the berries to make it look more attractive. There is no end to your creativity here and you'll soon be looking for any occasion to show of your new gourmet skills! |
